Jeff Mueller, MML, says he will have a report for Council to review on Ted Andrzejewski by July 31st, the day of the regular Council meeting.
The staff has been involved in preparatory work for 11 meetings since the June 26th Council meeting. They are now involved in the collection of Village taxes, and the receiving of monies for the daily enrollment of the pool and day camp along with their regular duties.
The Chief says the Department is busy and doing very well.
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
The crew is busy with their routine summer work, which includes sewer cleaning, sweeping streets, patching streets, picking up brush, equipment maintenance and the mowing of the village parks and other village owned properties.
Beechwood paving – Completed June 15th
Asset Management Plan – To be completed by January 1, 2018. The plan is required by the Department of Environmental Quality and is a plan for a community on how to best allocate resources to restore, maintain, and improve their water system.
South Seeger water and sewer main crossings, - Scheduled for the spring of 2018.
North and South Seeger milling and paving - Applications were recently submitted to the Rural Task Force 7A, through the Tuscola County Engineer, for the milling and paving of North Seeger and for South seeger. We have yet to hear what the project schedule is for the two projects. The applications are for 80/20 grants on both projects. Data sheets for the projects are enclosed.
Michigan Department of Transportation – Hot mix asphalt, cold milling and resurfacing on M – 81 from Sherman Street to M – 53. The project is scheduled to begin August 14, 2017 with a completion date of November 3, 2017.
The park programs are doing well.
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
The plant is meeting all the required limits. The switch gear is expected to be completed by the factory on 8/8/17 and will then be shipped for installation.
BUILDING AND ZONING PERMITS
Six building permits have been issued for Cass City from January 1, 2017 through July 24, 2017. The report sheet is attached.
