June 2017 Manager's Report

Jeff Mueller, MML has forwarded a list of five finalists with information on each for Council review with all five agreeing to interview on July 15th.
The staff has been involved in preparatory work for 10 meetings since the May 22nd council meeting. They have also been giving out information and receiving monies for the enrollment of day camp and swimming lessons along with their regular duties.
The big project – Summer taxes were mailed out June 22nd.
The Chief says preparations are complete for the Freedom Festival. He is well satisfied with Department Operations.
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
The crew is busy with their routine summer work, which includes sewer cleaning, sweeping streets, patching streets, picking up brush, and equipment maintenance. They are also busy with the mowing and maintenance of the parks and other village owned properties.
Beechwood Paving – completed June 15th. The project bid was $49,672.90. The completed project cost was $46,716.97. The project looks good.
The South Seeger Water and Sewer Main Crossing is being scheduled for the spring of 2018 as the Scada Equipment is needed for the Arsenic Treatment plant. (letter enclosed from Gary, DPW Superintendent). Funding will then be available for the water and sewer project next year.
Asset Management Plan-The 1st draft is scheduled for reading by August 1,2017.
Scott Cuthrell, Parks Director, will be submitting a written report to the Council on Park Activities.
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
The plant is meeting all of the required limits.
The switch gear has yet to be installed.
BUILDING AND ZONING PERMITS.
The building codes Department will be forwarding a report. If the report doesn’t get in the Council Packet we will have it for Council meeting.
