COMMUNITY MURAL
In honor of America’s semiquincentennial, our community mural was installed at the Municipal Building, showcasing a beautiful tribute created by many local hands who painted individual tiles. We extend our thanks to the Frankenmuth Credit Union Foundation for Our Communities, the Village of Cass City staff, and Matt Anthony and his crew for their support, as we proudly display this lasting symbol of unity, pride, and respect for 250 years of our nation’s history
About Cass City
Cass City, Michigan is located in Tuscola County, an area also described by Michiganders as the southern "Thumb" of Michigan........
The Village and the nearby Cass River are both named after General Lewis Cass, the territorial governor of Michigan in the earlier 19th century and the Democratic nominee for President of the United States in 1848. A sawmill was established at this location on the Cass River in 1851. Farming settlers first came here in 1855. Cass City was incorporated as a village in 1883. Agriculture has been a constant in Cass City and remains a large part of the economy, as well as some local industry and other small businesses.
Citizens of Cass City are very proud of the quality of life in this community. Cass City boasts a 9-hole golf course, an 80+ acre recreational park which has multiple children's playgrounds, the Helen Stevens Memorial Pool and Splash Pad, five baseball fields, four softball diamonds, a football field and track, an 18-hole disc golf course, the "new" Cass City Bark Park, two pavilions, and wooded nature areas.
The Village of Cass City is also proud to be a safe and family-friendly community, featuring a police department that maintains coverages 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. We have a strong, diverse economic community both in our downtown corridor along M-81, as well as our Industrial Park businesses. Cass City offers a top-quality school district, excellent selection in various healthcare providers and many other reasons to call our Village "HOME".
The Village of Cass City Council, Management, and Staff are extremely pleased to present this dashboard which is just a small “snapshot” of the Village of Cass City. We hope you can visit our community in person and come see for yourself just how much Cass City has to offer!
